BroadCast Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how BroadCast (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our Android app and related services. It is intended to be consistent with the Google Play User Data policy and our Data safety disclosures.
1. Information we collect
- Email address: collected when you sign in with Google and stored on our servers for account creation, authentication, and important service notices.
- Account / profile: name, profile photo, nickname, and account settings.
- Location: country, county, constituency, and ward you choose when setting up your profile, to show relevant local content.
- User content: posts, comments, media (photos/videos), statuses, marketplace listings, messages, and live/call activity you create.
- Device or other IDs: Android ID / installation-style device key, Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens and related Firebase installation identifiers, app user identifiers used with our servers and messaging providers, plus device metadata (model, OS version, app version, platform). - Other technical data: IP address and basic usage/diagnostics data.
- Permissions-based data: camera, microphone, photos/videos, Bluetooth (for calls), and notifications only when you grant those permissions.
We do not collect Advertising ID (GAID) for advertising tracking, and we do not use IMEI, MAC address, or BSSID for tracking.
2. How we use information
- App functionality — feeds, messaging, calls, livestreams, marketplace, and notifications
- Account management and authentication
- Personalize content by location and interests
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, and improve performance
- Provide customer support and comply with legal obligations
We do not sell personal information and do not use email or device IDs for third-party advertising networks.
3. How we share information
We may share limited data with service providers that process data on our behalf:
- Google — Sign-In (email/account authentication) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (push delivery / device tokens).
- Stream — chat messaging using your BroadCast user ID and public profile display fields.
- Agora — voice/video calls and livestreams.
- Hosting / infrastructure — servers, databases, and media storage/CDN.
- Other users when you post publicly or interact (profile details, content, marketplace listings).
- Legal authorities when required by law or to protect users and the platform.
For Google Play Data safety: Email address and Device or other IDs are collected and may be shared with the providers above for app functionality and account management (not advertising).
4. Data retention
We keep account and content data while your account is active. After account deletion, we remove or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period (generally within 30 days for core account records), except where we must retain limited records for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance. Push device tokens are deactivated/removed with account deletion or device unregister.
